Celtic Rabbits
Rabbits have always symbolized our connection to another world. In the ancient Celtic world, the hare was revered as a symbol of fertility, prosperity, and well-being. I chose to pay homage to them by referencing images found among Irish artifacts that celebrate their grace and beauty. In my bas relief, three hares dance together while weaving a budding vine that forms a circle. At its center is a nest of acorns, framed by the rabbits’ ears. The golden patina was chosen to emphasize the overarching concept of harmony and delight.
