Rufus

Rufus was the name of our pet raven we had as children. Each day we would let him fly around the house and each time, without fail, he would return. One day, however, he flew away as we all stood in disbelief that he should chose the wild over us. This is done in honor of him.

The japanese ukiyo-e “floating world” style of art has always fascinated me. Here I attempt to mimic this in sculpture using a very strong silhouetted design.
